Exploring Jyotirlinga: Meaning, Myths, and Pilgrimage Insights.

The 12 Jyotirlinga temples are revered as the holiest abodes of Lord Shiva, each linked to profound legends and spiritual significance. Spread across India, they symbolize Shiva’s infinite cosmic light and are believed to grant liberation, blessings, and divine energy to devotees.

Meaning: “Jyoti” = light, “Linga” = symbol of Shiva → Radiant sign of the infinite Shiva.

Origin Legend: To settle a dispute between Brahma and Vishnu, Shiva manifested as a pillar of endless light. Neither could find its beginning or end, proving Shiva’s transcendence. The places where this divine light touched Earth became the Jyotirlingas.
